Terms of Service

The short version: Rico sends you (or someone you set up, with their consent) well-timed text reminders. It's an annual subscription. We try hard to deliver on time, but Rico is a helpful nudge — not a guarantee, and not a substitute for your own judgment.

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of Rico Remembers, operated by Robert Fox ("we," "us"). By purchasing or using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Rico.

2. What Rico does

Rico sends text-message (and/or email) reminders about dates you provide, at lead times you select. You're responsible for entering accurate dates and a correct mobile number. Rico is a reminder service; it does not, on its own, book reservations, buy gifts, or guarantee any outcome (those may be offered as separate features in the future).

3. Eligibility & recipient consent

You must be 18+ to buy. If you set Rico up to text someone other than yourself, you confirm you have a good-faith basis to provide their number, and you understand that we will only text them after they opt in themselves. If they don't opt in, reminders go to you instead. You may not use Rico to harass, surveil, or text anyone against their wishes.

4. Subscriptions, billing & renewal

Rico is billed annually. Payment is processed by Stripe.
Unless you cancel, your subscription renews automatically each year at the then-current price; we'll send a reminder before renewal where required.
You can cancel anytime; cancellation stops future renewals. Gift subscriptions are one-year and do not auto-renew unless the recipient chooses to continue.

5. Refunds

If Rico isn't right for you, contact rico@ricoremembers.com within 30 days of purchase for a refund.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use Rico for unlawful, deceptive, or abusive purposes.
Don't enter numbers you have no legitimate reason to contact.
Don't attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service.

7. Service availability & "as is"

We work to deliver reminders reliably and on time, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free delivery (carriers, networks, and bad numbers happen). The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for a missed reminder or its consequences. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months.

9. If we discontinue Rico

Rico is run by a small team, and we may modify, suspend, or permanently discontinue the service (in whole or in part) at any time. If we wind the service down, we will make reasonable efforts to notify active subscribers by email beforehand. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, missed reminder, or other consequence arising from the modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service, and our total liability remains limited as described in Section 8.

If we permanently shut the service down during a paid subscription term, we will refund the unused, prepaid portion of your subscription on a pro-rata basis.

10. Changes to the service or terms

We may update the service or these Terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new date; continued use means you accept them.

11. Governing law & contact
